Reef View Hotel, Hamilton Island

GWADW 2024 has reserved a block of rooms at the conference venue, the Reef View Hotel. These are double-queen rooms available at a special conference rate of $380 AUD per night. Breakfast is at an additional special conference rate of $38.70 per day. Please book early to ensure you get a room! Travel

Hamilton island is accessible by air (the airport is HTI), with direct flights from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Cairns via three carriers: Qantas, Jetstar, and Virgin Australia. More information is available on the Hamilton Island website. 

Travel between the airport and the Reef View Hotel
For guests staying at the Reef View Hotel, detailed instructions will be located in your welcome letter. This information will guide you on arranging your complimentary shuttle bus between the hotel and airport.
 
Visa information
Please note that an invitation letter may be required to obtain a visa to enter Australia. It is best to start the process of obtaining a visa early.  

 
What visa do I need to enter Australia as an international attendee?
We suggest that you visit the Australian Immigration and Home Affairs website to find more info on which visas to apply for. 
 
Who will organise and pay for my visa?
It is the responsibility of the attendees to apply for the appropriate visa and pay the associated costs. We are not involved in the visa granting process. 
 
Do I need a letter of invitation? 
If your visa application requires a letter of invitation from the event organiser, please contact [email protected] with the following information (more information may be required depending on your circumstances): 
  • Full name as stated on your passport
